Alison McMath initially started working in the fashion industry subsequent to qualifying as a pattern cutter and women’s wear designer. After her youngest daughter was born she re-trained as a beauty therapist and continued to work within that industry for over twenty five years, running her own successful beauty business.

Part of that work included providing makeup and hair styling services for model portfolios and editorials, which in-turn gave Alison the inspiration to take up photography for herself. Initially she had a simple desire to photograph her own hair and makeup creations, but it soon developed into a real passion.

To date, she continues to focus on education and improving her skill set, aiming to create striking images that grab attention.

Her creative background has a huge influence in the images she produces. She is passionate about advancing her knowledge and since being awarded an Associate qualification by the SWPP (Society of Portrait and Wedding Photographers) she has gained merits in international photographic print awards and has been published in several fashion magazines.

Alison currently resides in Chorley, Lancashire with her husband Andrew.

When she is not in the studio or out on location she enjoys spending time with her beloved family and two rescue greyhounds.
