Hi, I’m Jan – award-winning cake designer, creator, and baker behind Wedding Cakes by Cake Celebrations.

Originally from Lancashire, I spent many years living in Somerset before recently relocating back to my roots. I now live in Penwortham with my husband and our grown-up son. My background as a competitive swimmer for Great Britain taught me the focus, discipline, and determination I bring to every cake I design and deliver.  (Keep reading below.)

I’ve been baking for as long as I can remember, and what started as a passion eventually grew into my full-time business. In 2013, I launched Wedding Cakes by Cake Celebrations while working as a full-time PA in the NHS. After a decade of juggling both worlds, I followed my heart and took the leap into cake artistry full time—and I haven’t looked back.

I specialise in creating elegant, stylish wedding cakes that are completely bespoke and crafted from scratch using the finest ingredients. But I don’t just make wedding cakes—I also design cakes for special occasions, such as birthdays, anniversaries, and christenings, as well as corporate events and brand celebrations.

Attention to detail has always been my hallmark. It’s what ensures each design is finished to perfection—and what helped me win awards in the Wedding Cake of 3 or more Tiers category at Cake International in Birmingham for the last three years.

What I love most is turning your ideas and inspirations into something truly beautiful and unique. I work closely with every client to understand their story and what matters most, offering a high-end, personal service that’s thoughtful from start to finish. The result? A show-stopping cake that not only looks stunning but tastes amazing too.
